Rogério Godinho is a multifaceted artist - pianist, singer and composer, studied at the University of Évora (Portugal), Lemmensinstituut (Belgium) and at the Hot Club of Portugal, and has in photography, filming and poetry other manifestations of his artistic universe, as a creator Born in Lisbon, he began learning piano and music theory at the age of 8, playing both classical and pop repertoire. With 15 years of age he began to be interested also by singing. Later, in 2000, embarked on a period of deepening his knowledge about music, starting to have private piano lessons, following the bibliography Conservatory. Shortly thereafter began to take lessons in vocal technique with the teacher Luís Madureira. In 2002, awakened in him a strong interest in jazz language. It was then that began to take private lessons of piano and voice, adapted to this style of music. In 2005, continued his studies in the Hot Club of Portugal, in Lisbon, in the full-time course of piano and voice. There, he studied piano with teachers like Rui Caetano, Filipe Melo and voice lessons with Joana Rios and Paula Oliveira. He completed this course in 2009. In addition to the classes of the Hot Club, also had lessons in vocal technique with Baritone Rui de Luna and later with Rui de Matos. After a period divided between the practice of engineering and music, he decided in early 2009 to dedicate himself exclusively to the artistic aspect. In that same year, he was admitted into the University of Évora (Portugal), for the degree of Piano (Jazz). There he had the opportunity to study with teachers like Filipe Melo, Juan Galiardo, José Menezes, Liliana Bizinech (vocal technique) and Amilcar Vasques Dias (pianist and composer), with whom he had the pleasure of taking classes of composition and musical analysis. His interest in classical music (since he was a child he became accustomed to hearing it) led him to study various disciplines in that area. Continued his studies at Lemmensinstituut (Leuven, Belgium), where he had the opportunity to work with the teachers Hendrik Vanden Abeele, Marina Smoulders, Frank Vaganée, Lieven Strobbe, among others.


Throughout this academic path, had the opportunity to attend master classes with important names in Jazz, as Rassinfosse (bassist Chet Baker), Kurt Rosenwinkel, Mario Laginha, among others. He just published his first CD "ETERNO REGRESSO" (Eternal Return), with original music composed by himself, in which are reflected in his main influences: Jazz, Fado, Popular Brazilian Music, with many classical elements. It is a concept mostly intimate, where the words, image and music are inseparable. The musicians who normally play in his project are: André Ferreira (bass), Cesar Gonçalves (cello), André Mota (drums) and the guests David Ribeiro (Portuguese guitar), Daniel Bolito (violin), Leonor Fleming (viola), Pedro Lopes (violin), Carlos Teixeira (flute), Francisco Sales (guitar), Javier Alcántara (guitar), Ricardo Toscano (clarinet / sax), Diogo Duque (trumpet). Are also regular guests Clemente Pedro dos Reis, in poetry. Since 2013 he is dedicated as well to the photography and filming.
